To complete your application, some companies require payment information before you are underwritten and approved for coverage. Situations vary. You may be charged automatically upon approval. Or, you may be charged only after you are notified that you were approved.

Note that you are protected by a 10-day free look clause and can receive a refund if you cancel coverage during that period (provided you have had no claims).

In any case, do not cancel any existing insurance until you have received written notification of your acceptance.
