Your Children’s Life Insurance Will Soon End

As your Children’s Life insurance concludes, consider continuing group coverage through this program.

Your Child’s Options

Option 1: Request $25,000 of group insurance.

Children whose dependent life insurance is ending are automatically eligible for $25,000 of life insurance with no health questions or medical exams.  Once insured, those covered by this plan can remain insured for life.

Adult children must enroll within 31 days
of the dependent coverage end date.

To Enroll:

  1. Download the Authorization and Enrollment Form.
  2. Complete, sign and date the application.
  3. Select your payment method:
    • Monthly automatic withdrawal from your bank via EFT. No checks or worry about paying too late. There is no processing fee for EFT.  To begin, download, complete and sign the Authorization for Electronic Funds Transfer.
    • or
    • Enclose a check payable to the “Collegiate Alumni Trust” for your semi-annual premium. Future payments will include an $8 processing fee. To determine your premium, see FAQ “What are the premiums for $25,000 of coverage?”
  4. Send your application and payment to:

Once we receive your initial payment to activate your account, we will prepare and send your Certificate of Insurance.

Option 2: Apply for more insurance.

Those who would like to apply for more than $25,000 of coverage have choices:

  • Core Life: Annually renewable group life insurance from $50,000 to $750,000 that can continue to age 90. In select states, QuickDecisionSM can provide an immediate decision on applications up to $500,000.*
  • Life for Life: 10-and 20-year term life insurance from $100,000 to $2 million.
  • Accidental Death Insurance: Guaranteed-issue from $50,000 to $1 million. Pays in addition to any life insurance you may have.

* QuickDecision is for applicants under age 50 not in AK, MT, NY, UT and VA, but other underwriting options are available.

Update Your Dependent Information

  • Do you have children under age 23 (age 24 in TX and age 25 in CA and OK)? Confirm their information so we can alert you when their coverage is ending.
  • No more dependent children? Request that billing be discontinued for children’s insurance.
  • Update Dependent Information
  • Do you have a disabled child? If your child is incapable of self-sustaining employment because of a mental or physical handicap, you may continue dependent coverage. Contact us for details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my child does nothing?

If your child does not request conversion to $25,000 of coverage within 31 days of their dependent coverage end date, coverage will simply end. Adult children are eligible to apply for other coverages through this program  at any time.

What are the premiums for $25,000 of coverage?

At age 23, the semi-annual premium for females is $32.70 and for males is $36.52. At the end of 10-years, you may apply for another 10-or 20- year term.

What if I fail to notify Meyer and Associates that I no longer have dependents under age 23?

If you do not notify us that you no longer have additional dependent children, we will continue to bill you for the associated premium. You can notify us via the Children’s Insurance Update and Change Form.
